If Jesus is truly the bread of life then we should find our satisfaction in Him. He will provide for our needs. He will satisfy. So what does it look like to have a life satisfied in Christ?
You become less attached to other things.
When you realize that Jesus is the only thing that will truly satisfy you start to gradually loosen your grip on things that you once thought mattered a lot more. Sometimes we cling to our career. We cling to our comfort. We cling to all kinds of things that we think will eventually bring complete satisfaction.
In Christ, we find true satisfaction. We find that the things we thought were satisfying us were doing no such thing because, in light of having him, those things seem worthless. As the old hymn says, “All I once thought gain, I have counted loss. Spent and worthless now, compared to this, knowing you Jesus.”
When we have satisfaction in Christ we let loose of the things we once clung to in hopes of clinging ever tighter to Him.
