Jesus tells her that He is the resurrection and the life.
I think it’s important to note, she believed. He wasn’t saying this to convince her. She knew God’s hand was on Jesus, she knew if Jesus wanted to do something he could. She just hadn’t completely trusted him.
There is a passage that talks about wheat and tares. A farmer is going through his harvest of wheat and he realizes among his wheat has grown a fair amount of tares with it. The tares look like wheat. Most people would assume they are wheat. It’s not until they’re fully grown that you can tell the difference. Jesus was implying that even among those who claim to believe, there are many who look like wheat, but might truly be only tares.
There is something life-changing about truly trusting Jesus. Everything is different. It’s like a light switches on. God does something in your heart and mind and just changes you. Have you experienced this? Have you fully trusted Jesus? Has he resurrected you and truly given you a new life?
