Give grace, not condemnation.

Jesus could have so easily smashed the religious leaders trying to trick him and accuse this young girl. Yet he didn’t. He showed mercy to her, and he also showed mercy to them. By simply stating, “let the one among you without sin be the first to cast his stone” he reminds them that none of them are perfect, either. He didn’t have to call them out, he didn’t bring their sins to light the way they did hers, he simply asks them, what about your stuff?

We often forget that the same way we have been given grace, so God calls us to give grace as well. We forget that in the same way God forgave us such great trespasses, we too should be forgiving others.

Give grace to the people around you, not condemnation.
