Acts 17:22-34

Sometimes you’re there for just a few.

Paul was in the same city he had been called a simpleton in, teaching the same Jesus they all mocked. He was doing what God called him to do, but this time there was no great revival. This time there was no great change. Some mocked him. Some ignored him. A handful of men and women actually responded. That’s it. No great story here. No miracle. No event that changes thousands. There was just 2 or 3 and that was enough.

Paul knew the importance of one person knowing Jesus or a thousand. He worked tirelessly for the one, the same he would for a thousand. God has called you to do something. It might be reaching a thousand. It might reach one. Either way, that mission should consume us. It should be our life.

Whatever you feel God calling you to today, do it. Do it wholeheartedly. Do it relentlessly. Do it wisely. And do it in a way that when you look back you’ll be able to tell God you held nothing back.
