How do we react to love like this, though? How do we respond to love so great and so complete? What does it look like for me to have this love in my life on a daily basis and have constant access to it? This kind of love that hits my life and heart like a Kissel intent to destroy the brokenness and corruption that was there. Love meant to free the clogged nuts and bolts of a spirit buried under sin. What does life after this look Like?
In 1 John 3 the author asks us, have we truly comprehended this love? Have we stopped to think about the fact that we are called children of God. He finishes by telling them, “ everyone who thus puts his hope in him purifies himself as he is pure.”
The truth is, when I encounter such an amazing God, such a complete love, and realize that this love is mine, I want to be more like it. I see that it is pure, and I want to be pure. I realize the things it does and I too want to do those things. I acknowledge the beauty in this type of love. I see the unexplainable yet undeniable qualities that this God who gives this kind of love has and I want to be like that.
Do you want to be more like Jesus? Have you become so overwhelmed by the grace and love and hope of Christ that you can’t help but want to be more like it?
