In Sharing Life
And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecc. 4:12
It’s not easy to get through some of the things that this life can throw at you. It can be rough sometimes. We’ve talked about that. It’s pointless to have great moments in life if you’re alone when you have them. We’ve talked about that this week as well.
We weren’t meant to go through life alone, but instead to have people around us. People we share with, break bread with, struggle with, and rejoice with in all of life’s moments. We were meant to be part of a community that could help us and change us and shape us and that we could help change and shape and grow. We talked this Sunday about making a real impact in someone’s life and the best way to do that is to share your life with them. Rarely do sermons change lives, rarely do facebook posts change lives, rarely does your bumper sticker or moral purity change lives. They aren’t bad things, but alone they don’t do much for others. We need others in our lives to help us grow and so that we can help others grow.
Who is in your life? Who are you allowing to make a real impact on you and who are you making a real impact on?
