We condemn rather than invite.
When we grow more consumed with our religion rather than our faith, we stop inviting. The people around us become the problem. They listen to bad music and watch Game of Thrones, and maybe even smoke cigars. They definitely don’t use clean language and their views on creation, abortion, politics, and social issues are different. So our best bet when we are religious is to just avoid them.
Religion pulls us away from sick, hurting, and lost people. Jesus sends us to them. He calls us to love on them. He beacons us to help heal them. He leads us to bring them into our lives. He leads us to show the same radical love and care and concern that he shows us.
