Prayer becomes mechanical
When we focus on our religion over our relationship prayers become less about talking with God and more about getting another thing done. We pray, not because we want to know and experience God, but because we’re supposed to pray. We spend moments in prayer before meals and at church but don’t find ourselves having real and honest conversations with God. Religion puts the act of praying over the one we pray to and will usually leave us in a cold and lifeless faith that might pray regularly but has not felt God in those prayers for some time.
Do you pray for the sake of prayer or do you seek to know God better?
