Humility is gone.
When we focus on our religion over Jesus we focus on our own works. As we do more stuff that looks religious we grow more and more arrogant. We start to think we’ve gotten better and our ability to sympathize with those who are still struggling seems to grow smaller and smaller. Finally, we get to a place where we see someone in the same struggle we’ve overcome and instead of helping, we simply judge them. We don’t remember our own struggles. We don’t seek to help them through theirs. We simply look down at them. If we can kick the habit so should they. If we got over it they should too. Humility is gone. Arrogance and pride take its place.
Do you look at others who struggle and see someone who needs your help or do you see someone who should just get their life together?
