Bondservants – Work Relationships – Colossians 3:18-25
When you hate your boss it’s easy to justify the easy path. It’s easy when you hate your company to look at your work and give “just enough.” We all do it in some fashion or another.
When we read this verse though, we’re encouraged to do better. We’re encouraged to work for more than just our boss. We’re told to be the best worker in the place. We’re told that we are to be model employees and we’re to do it all the time. Note this isn’t the appearance of being a good employee. This is doing it all the time whether someone is looking or not.
If we worked like this, people would love to hire Christians. If we worked like this people would be begging for believers to come and work there. If you worked like this your career would change, your reputation would change, and relationship with your work would change.
What is your relationship with your boss like? What kind of worker are you? Do you work wholeheartedly as if your faith called you to?
