Israel, for the last time we’ll see in this study, did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. They continued after all the examples and struggles they had gone through to fall back into the same habits. Even after trying to force their own way and ending up with a leader like Jephthah, they still managed to find their way back into the same mess.
The point we must see from this repeated phrase is simple. Until you change your life your circumstances won’t change either. If you continue to spend the same way you’ll always wind up in debt. If you continue to eat the same way you’ll always gain the weight back. If you dont remove the same temptations you’ll always fall back into the same pitfalls.
The hardest part about having a different life is making the changes necessary to get there. If you know where you want to be the real question is are you willing to do what it takes to get there? Will you make the changes? Israel wouldn’t and they found themselves again enslaved to a surrounding nation because of the same mistakes.
