Perspective

It’s easy to see other people and the things that they post, and think that you’ve gotten the raw end of the deal. You see a family with a nicer house. You see a couple taking another vacation. You see a friend who just got the new iPhone XYZ. You see all these images and it’s easy to look at our own lives and wonder where we went wrong. We want that life. We want those memories. We want those new toys. We begin to compare and our honest real life never looks as good as the filtered half-truths we see in social media.

Here is the truth. The family with a bigger, nicer house just escapes off to the bigger, distant rooms. The couple taking another vacation are in terrible shape and really don’t like each other. The dude with the new phone is going to be paying for it for the next 3 years with an insanely high phone bill. It’s just a glimpse. A filtered glimpse.

Don’t compare. Don’t play that game. Realize the grass is only greener cause you can’t see all the crap.
