Look for opportunities
It’s easy to be so caught up in our schedules and our stuff that we forget that the people around us have needs too. We’re so overwhelmed by all of life’s distractions, it becomes impossible for us to see others in need. You can’t notice someone else’s suffering if you’re glued to your phone. You can’t see someone else’s point of view if you’ve already decided on your own. We’ve got to look for opportunities for selflessness.
It’s easier than you think. Stop making it big things and start small. Hold the door for someone. Do chores around the house when it’s not your turn. Look for the little ways to put someone else before yourself. Look for the small ways and the bigger ones will show themselves too.
