We live as examples.
Believe it or not, and like it or not, people are judging all of us because of you. If you claim Jesus, if they know you go to church, everything you do is automatically assigned to the rest of us. It’s not really fair. It doesn’t make sense. That doesn’t stop it from happening though. I cannot tell you the countless number of relationships that I have started with people that start off in the negative because of something some other believer did years ago. Another church hurt them so I must be just like them. Again, it isn’t fair, it doesn’t make sense, but it still happens.
The truth is, we’ve got to learn to live as examples. We can’t take our faith lightly. The world is watching, very critically, and wants us to fail. They’re looking for excuses and reasons to judge us. They want an opportunity to judge us. And when we go lukewarm in our faith it creates even more opportunities for us to do damage to ourselves and others.
Do you take this seriously? Is your faith something you cherish and care for? Are you working to live as an example of God’s love and grace?
