We talked this week about the difference between being fueled by fear, or being fueled by an overflow of God’s love. For many of us, we spend so much time focusing on our fears, and not enough time focusing on God, His love for us, and the beautiful changes that it makes. So this week we’re going to look at how inviting that is focused on God’s love, and fueled by love can be drastically different than following a religious obligation to proselytize.
We invite people into our lives, not just our church.
There is a huge difference between bringing someone into your life and bringing someone to church. When we bring someone into our life, we’re inviting them to see us as we are. We’re making an investment in someone, through good, bad, uncomfortable. We’re deciding to invest in someone and bring them a little closer to show them love.
Most of the time we settle for an invite to church, a passing offer to come check out church, when what most people are really craving is a real relationship. When we open our lives to people and bring them closer into our life, part of this does include church, but a much greater part involves our personal walk with God and the way his love has changed us.
Today, ask yourself, who am I bringing into my life? Who am I pulling closer to show the overflow of God’s love for me?
