It’s fun sometimes to think about what you’d do if you won the lottery, isn’t it? We list the things we’d buy if we ever got to the point of unlimited cash. We know the things we would do if money wasn’t an issue because currently, it is. Right now, the reason I don’t have a room for each of my hobbies is because of money. The reason I don’t have a professional workshop is money. The reason my tv doesnt take up an entire wall is money. I’m limited because I’m already in debt. It’s reality. And if one day that debt were gone and I was told I had unlimited resources, I already know the things I would do.
When we imagine the forgiveness of God, it’s a lot like this. We’re limited by our sin, our past, our hurts, and our insecurities. Yet, when all of this is erased, we’re given the opportunity to be more. We’re shown we can be more and more than we ever imagined because, as we see in Ephesians 1:3, we’ve been blessed with all spiritual blessings. God has not only taken away the debt of our sin, but given us a freedom to be more than sinners. He’s given us an opportunity to be more than a broken, hurt, insecure, selfish person. He’s given me all spiritual blessings.
What would you do if you knew anything was possible? What would you do if your past wasn’t an issue? What would you do if you didn’t have to fear failure?
