It can be really easy to feel like our past disqualifies us from doing great things for God. We get afraid that we’ve made too many mistakes, we’ve gone too far, we’ve done too much, or just don’t bring enough to the table for God to really use. And we couldn’t be more wrong.
David wasn’t disqualified. He was a nobody. His own family left him out in the fields. His own family thought he wasn’t worth it. Typically your mom is supposed to lie to you and tell you anything is possible, but David’s mom told him to stay in the field cause they’re looking for a king and he didn’t need to waste time. David was disqualified by everyone else and maybe you feel like that too.
God saw something different, though. He saw something no one else could see. He didn’t see a poor kid from a tiny village; he saw a king.
Don’t let others tell you who you are. Let God show you your potential, and don’t let anyone else take it away.
