Generosity is important. Generosity is about more than giving a tithe; it’s ultimately about having a heart like Jesus. Jesus was the ultimate giver. He gave us life. He gave us hope. He gave us a promise. He gave his life keeping that promise. He gives us grace every day. Every blessing we have is because He decides to be generous with us. So this week we’re going to look at ways that we can be generous.
Generous with grace.
We tend to be a little greedy with our grace. We’re given an abundance of it from God. He dumps grace on us every day when we confess our sins. His forgiveness and love are unprecedented and unmatchable. There is now, therefore, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus because God has been so generous with his grace.
How generous are you with your grace towards others? Do you cut people off? Are you short on grace with them? Or do you extend grace? Do you accept people including their flaws because God accepted you? Do you love on them, even though they may be hard to love because you were hard to love too at one time?
Generosity isn’t just about money. Generosity is about seeing the value in things outside yourself and being willing to invest in that. Sometimes, investing may be looking past the rough exterior and extending more grace.
