We’re all excited to spend time with our families, give and get gifts, have the day off work, and enjoy the holiday. But if you’re one of the ones who takes the time today to read this, let us remember the real purpose for all this.
Today, let us stop and be amazed at what is easily the greatest act of humility mankind has ever seen. The one, holy, righteous God, became one of us. The God who made everything, the God who spoke to Abraham, who guided Moses, who lead and walked with Enoch, who cleansed the tongue of Isaac, who gave his word and promise to the people of Israel, who forgave their sins and made a new covenant with them, humbled himself, and became one of us. All because he loved us.
Today, you should enjoy your family and gifts and all those things. Yet, please don’t let them overcast and make us to ignore the most beautiful gift we’ve ever been given. That God loved us so much, he sent his son. And he didnt roll in like a king to rule, he came as a baby, to grow, to serve, and to love.
