God meets you where you are.
Somehow along the way we end up with this idea that we have to clean up to come to God. We have to get our hearts right, we have to fix our language, we have to get rid of the addiction, and then we can finally pray to God and be heard. Then and only then, we feel confident trying to follow God.
You wouldn’t get healthy before you visited the doctor, would you? You don’t fill up on chips at home before you go out to eat. Why would you need to clean yourself to come to God? He doesn’t want us to live in that mess, but he wants to help us make things new. He wants to restore us. So, brokenness is welcome. Struggles are welcome. No one is perfect, so everyone is welcome. You don’t have to fix everything to come to God, instead, God meets you where you are.
