It’s easy to miss how much progress you’ve actually made. It’s like weight loss. You see you every day so you don’t notice the changes. However, if you take a picture beforehand, you can go back and see a major difference.
So many people go down spiritual journeys without having any real idea how far they’ve come. We beat ourselves us for not having “arrived” and we miss out on all the changes and progress we’ve made so far. We forget how we used to be because we see ourselves every day.
As you start the journey in moving out of your spiritual comfort zone, take some time and journal. Write down your thoughts, your prayers, your concerns, and what God is doing in your life. It’s like leaving a picture of yourself to look back and see what God has done. Your movement out of your comfort zone and into his work isn’t a burden, it’s a journey. Your journal is the pictures of where he has taken you.
