The prophecies laid the foundation.
It wasn’t a shot in the dark. It wasn’t that Jesus got lucky. It wasn’t like he made the story up after and it sounded good. The prophecies about God’s coming salvation were hundreds of years prior to Jesus. There were so many of them. They all had very specific details about who was supposed to be and where he came from. The details were insane.
Jesus showed up and things that were completely out of his control fit perfectly with who He was prophesied to be. He was born in the right place, at the right time, to the right family, and did things that no one could explain. The only reasonable explanation was that he was exactly who he claimed to be and that God was truly doing something great.
It may not seem like it at times, but God has a plan. He had an exact plan for how he would bring Jesus into the world, how he would suffer, how he would die, and how he would rise from the dead to save us. And he did it.
You may not see God moving. You may not understand what’s happening, but you can trust that he is at work.
