There is nothing worse than looking back at your life wondering what could have happened. Missed opportunities can plague the mind. It can leave us resentful of where we are because of the life that might have been. It leaves us hurt because of how things might have turned out. We’re left mourning the potential of a road untraveled.
In the parable of the talent,s Jesus actually talks about this. Three guys were given a lump sum of cash to take care of and two of the three guys invested and made something from it. The third guy buried it so that it wouldn’t get lost. He missed the opportunity to do something great and when it came time to give the money back and show how he had used the investment he’d be given, he regretted it.
Don’t miss out of God’s calling for vain idols. Don’t walk away from what God has because something else has gotten your heart. The last thing you want is to look back and feel regret that your life could have been more, could have had more meaning, more impact. Search for everything God has for you.
