What is God’s calling on my life, anyway?

Sometimes we look for God to send down a specific and detailed will for our lives. We look for God to do something magical and mystical to help us feel like we’re amazing the right choice and going the right direction. Sometimes we even sit stagnant until we hear the kind of answer we’re looking for from Him.

Here is the good news. God has given you a calling. It is a clear, concise and important calling. God has called you to reach the lost. In Matthew 28, we’re told as the church exactly what our calling is in this life. We’re called to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

What’s crazy is most of us want more than that, when we aren’t even doing that well. We want God to give us a special mission or direct course to follow when we aren’t even following the course he has already laid out before us. We want a detailed will of God when we can’t be faithful with his general will for our lives.

So who are you discipling? Who are you reaching out to, loving on, and helping come closer to Jesus?
